Supplied as solution form in 0.01M PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.05% Proclin-300, 50% glycerol.
concentration :
0.82mg/ml
storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 4ºC for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20ºC for 24 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no
obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
tested application :
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
app notes :
Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/mL. Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL. Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL. Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes the alpha chain of type XVI collagen, a member of the FACIT collagen family (fibril-associated collagens with interrupted helices). Members of this collagen family are found in association with fibril-forming collagens such as type I and II, and serve to maintain the integrity of the extracellular matrix. High levels of type XVI collagen have been found in fibroblasts and keratinocytes, and in smooth muscle and amnion. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
COL16A1: Involved in mediating cell attachment and inducing integrin-mediated cellular reactions, such as cell spreading and alterations in cell morphology. Belongs to the fibril-associated collagens with interrupted helices (FACIT) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Extracellular matrix; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p35.2. Cellular Component: collagen type XVI trimer; endoplasmic reticulum lumen; extracellular matrix; extracellular region; proteinaceous extracellular matrix. Molecular Function: integrin binding; protein binding. Biological Process: cell adhesion; cell adhesion mediated by integrin; extracellular matrix organization; female pregnancy; integrin activation; integrin-mediated signaling pathway; positive regulation of focal adhesion assembly
