specificity :
The antibody is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against CRAT. It has beenselected for its ability to recognize CRAT in immunohistochemical staining andwestern blotting.
purity :
Antigen-specific Affinity Chromatography
form :
Supplied as solution form in PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.02% NaN3, 50% glycerol.
storage stability :
Storage : Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 4 degree C for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for 12 months. Stability Test : The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
tested application :
WB; ICC; IHC-P; IHC-F; ELISA; IP; IF; FCM
app notes :
Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/ml. Immunocytochemistry in formalin fixed cells: 5-20ug/ml. Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 5-20ug/ml. Immunohistochemistry in paraffin section: 5-20ug/ml. Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 0.05-2ug/ml.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes carnitine O-acetyltransferase, a member of the carnitine acyltransferase family and a key metabolic pathway enzyme which plays an important role in energy homeostasis and fat metabolism. This enzyme catalyzes the reversible transfer of acyl groups from an acyl-CoA thioester to carnitine and regulates the ratio of acyl-CoA/CoA. It is found in both the mitochondria and the peroxisome. Alternative splicing results in transcript variants encoding different isoforms that may localize to different subcellular compartments. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]
uniprot summary :
CRAT: Carnitine acetylase is specific for short chain fatty acids. Carnitine acetylase seems to affect the flux through the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex. It may be involved as well in the transport of acetyl-CoA into mitochondria. Belongs to the carnitine/choline acetyltransferase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Acetyltransferase; EC 2.3.1.7; Mitochondrial. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q34.11. Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum; mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrion; peroxisomal matrix; peroxisome. Molecular Function: carnitine O-acetyltransferase activity; receptor binding. Biological Process: carnitine metabolic process, CoA-linked; fatty acid beta-oxidation using acyl-CoA oxidase; transport
