SDC1_HUMAN
specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of SDC1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between SDC1 and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

products description :
Intended Uses: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of SDC1 in porcine serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. Principle of the Assay: The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to SDC1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to SDC1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain SDC1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of SDC1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane (type I) heparan sulfate proteoglycan and is a member of the syndecan proteoglycan family. The syndecans mediate cell binding, cell signaling, and cytoskeletal organization and syndecan receptors are required for internalization of the HIV-1 tat protein. The syndecan-1 protein functions as an integral membrane protein and participates in cell proliferation, cell migration and cell-matrix interactions via its receptor for extracellular matrix proteins. Altered syndecan-1 expression has been detected in several different tumor types. While several transcript variants may exist for this gene, the full-length natures of only two have been described to date. These two represent the major variants of this gene and encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
