RBM20_HUMAN
specificity :
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of RNA Binding Motif Protein 20 (RBM20). No significant cross-reactivity or interference between RNA Binding Motif Protein 20 (RBM20) and analogues was observed.
storage stability :
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

products description :
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to RNA Binding Motif Protein 20 (RBM20). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to RNA Binding Motif Protein 20 (RBM20). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain RNA Binding Motif Protein 20 (RBM20), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm 10nm. The concentration of RNA Binding Motif Protein 20 (RBM20) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a protein that binds RNA and regulates splicing. Mutations in this gene have been associated with familial dilated cardiomyopathy. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]
uniprot summary :
RBM20: RNA-binding protein that acts as a regulator of mRNA splicing of a subset of genes involved in cardiac development. Regulates splicing of TTN (Titin). Defects in RBM20 are the cause of cardiomyopathy dilated type 1DD (CMD1DD). A disorder characterized by ventricular dilation and impaired systolic function, resulting in congestive heart failure and arrhythmia. Patients are at risk of premature death. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q25.2. Cellular Component: nucleus. Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; RNA binding; nucleotide binding. Biological Process: RNA splicing; heart development; mRNA processing; positive regulation of RNA splicing. Disease: Cardiomyopathy, Dilated, 1dd
