Original Concentration: 200 ug/mL
storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8ºC for one month. Aliquot and store at -80ºC for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

ncbi summary :
Signal-mediated nuclear import and export proceed through the nuclear pore complex (NPC), which is comprised of approximately 50 unique proteins collectively known as nucleoporins. The 98 kDa nucleoporin is generated through a biogenesis pathway that involves synthesis and proteolytic cleavage of a 186 kDa precursor protein. This cleavage results in the 98 kDa nucleoporin as well as a 96 kDa nucleoporin, both of which are localized to the nucleoplasmic side of the NPC. Rat studies show that the 98 kDa nucleoporin functions as one of several docking site nucleoporins of transport substrates. The human gene has been shown to fuse to several genes following chromosome translocations in acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and T-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia (T-ALL). This gene is one of several genes located in the imprinted gene domain of 11p15.5, an important tumor-suppressor gene region. Alterations in this region have been associated with the Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, Wilms tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, and lung, ovarian, and breast cancer. Alternative splicing of this gene results in several transcript variants; however, not all variants have been fully described. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
uniprot summary :
NUP98: Nup98 and Nup96 play a role in the bidirectional transport across the nucleoporin complex (NPC). The repeat domain in Nup98 has a direct role in the transport. Nup98 interacts directly with Nup96. Nup96 is part of the Nup160 subcomplex in the nuclear pore which is composed of Nup160, Nup133, Nup107 and Nup96. This complex plays a role in RNA export and in tethering Nup98 and Nup153 to the nucleus. May interact with RAE1. Interacts with vesicular stomatitis virus protein M. Belongs to the nucleoporin GLFG family. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Nucleoporin. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.5. Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; kinetochore; nuclear membrane; nuclear pore; nuclear envelope; cytosol; nuclear inclusion body. Molecular Function: protein binding; structural constituent of nuclear pore; transporter activity; peptide binding. Biological Process: nuclear pore complex assembly; mRNA transport; viral reproduction; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; protein import into nucleus, docking; mitotic nuclear envelope disassembly; nucleocytoplasmic transport; pathogenesis; viral infectious cycle; glucose transport; nuclear pore organization and biogenesis; hexose transport; carbohydrate metabolic process; gene expression; viral transcription; mitotic cell cycle; DNA replication; transmembrane transport
