uniprot entry name :
PRG2_HUMAN
purity :
Antigen-specific Affinity Chromatography.
form :
Supplied as solution form in 0.01M PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.05% Proclin-300,1%BSA, 50% glycerol.
concentration :
0.35 mg/ml
storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 4oC for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20oC for 12 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. Note: As fluorescence can photobleach when exposed to light, so the antibody
must be protected from light.
tested application :
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF).
app notes :
Western blotting: 0.5-2 ug/mL. Immunohistochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL. Immunocytochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL. Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.
other info1 :
Organism Species: Mus musculus (Mouse). Source: Antibody labeling. Label: FITC. Traits: Liquid. Immunogen: Recombinant MBP (Met100~Lys215) expressed in E.coli

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is the predominant constituent of the crystalline core of the eosinophil granule. High levels of the proform of this protein are also present in placenta and pregnancy serum, where it exists as a complex with several other proteins including pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPPA), angiotensinogen (AGT), and C3dg. This protein may be involved in antiparasitic defense mechanisms as a cytotoxin and helminthotoxin, and in immune hypersensitivity reactions. The encoded protein contains a peptide that displays potent antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and fungi. It is directly implicated in epithelial cell damage, exfoliation, and bronchospasm in allergic diseases. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]
uniprot summary :
PRG2: Cytotoxin and helminthotoxin. Also induces non-cytolytic histamine release from human basophils. Involved in antiparasitic defense mechanisms and immune hypersensitivity reactions. The proform acts as a proteinase inhibitor, reducing the activity of PAPPA. Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide; Vesicle. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q12. Cellular Component: transport vesicle; extracellular region. Molecular Function: heparin binding; carbohydrate binding. Biological Process: positive regulation of interleukin-4 production; negative regulation of interleukin-10 production; defense response to bacterium; immune response; defense response to nematode
