storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
tested application :
SDS-PAGE, WB, ELISA, IP, CoIP, Purification, Amine Reactive Labeling. (May be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user.)

other info1 :
Source: Prokaryotic expression. Residues: Ser22~Val198. Tags: N-terminal His-Tag. Subcellular Location: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Secreted. Traits: Freeze-dried powder
other info2 :
Predicted isoelectric point: 8.8. Predicted Molecular Mass: 20.6kDa. Accurate Molecular Mass: 24&28kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE reducing conditions. Phenomenon explanation: The possible reasons that the actual band size differs from the predicted are as follows:. 1. Splice variants: Alternative splicing may create different sized proteins from the same gene. 2. Relative charge: The composition of amino acids may affects the charge of the protein. 3. Post-translational modification: Phosphorylation, glycosylation, methylation etc. 4. Post-translation cleavage: Many proteins are synthesized as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form. 5. Polymerization of the target protein: Dimerization, multimerization etc. Usage: Reconstitute in 20mM Tris, 150mM NaCl (pH8.0) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.

ncbi summary :
The CD8 antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. The CD8 antigen acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor on the T lymphocyte to recognize antigens displayed by an antigen presenting cell in the context of class I MHC molecules. The coreceptor functions as either a homodimer composed of two alpha chains or as a heterodimer composed of one alpha and one beta chain. Both alpha and beta chains share significant homology to immunoglobulin variable light chains. This gene encodes the CD8 alpha chain. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]
uniprot summary :
CD8A: Identifies cytotoxic/suppressor T-cells that interact with MHC class I bearing targets. CD8 is thought to play a role in the process of T-cell mediated killing. CD8 alpha chains binds to class I MHC molecules alpha-3 domains. In general heterodimer of an alpha and a beta chain linked by two disulfide bonds. Can also form homodimers. Shown to be expressed as heterodimer on thymocytes and as homodimer on peripheral blood T-lymphocytes. Interacts with the MHC class I HLA-A/B2M dimer. Interacts with LCK in a zinc-dependent manner. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Membrane protein, integral. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p12. Cellular Component: T cell receptor complex; integral to plasma membrane; extracellular region; plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane. Molecular Function: protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; MHC class I protein binding; coreceptor activity; protein kinase binding. Biological Process: antigen processing and presentation; regulation of immune response; T cell activation; T cell mediated immunity; cytotoxic T cell differentiation; immune response; positive regulation of calcium-mediated signaling; defense response to virus; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway. Disease: Cd8 Deficiency, Familial
