storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
tested application :
SDS-PAGE, WB, ELISA, IP, CoIP, Purification, Amine Reactive Labeling. (May be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user.)

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a secreted extracellular matrix protein that functions in tissue development and regeneration, including wound healing and ventricular remodeling following myocardial infarction. The encoded protein binds to integrins to support adhesion and migration of epithelial cells. This protein plays a role in cancer stem cell maintenance and metastasis. Mice lacking this gene exhibit cardiac valve disease, and skeletal and dental defects. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
uniprot summary :
POSTN: Binds to heparin. Induces cell attachment and spreading and plays a role in cell adhesion. May play a role in extracellular matrix mineralization. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Cell adhesion; Secreted, signal peptide; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted. Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; extracellular matrix; proteinaceous extracellular matrix; extracellular space; extracellular region; trans-Golgi network. Molecular Function: heparin binding; cell adhesion molecule binding. Biological Process: tissue development; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; regulation of Notch signaling pathway; cell adhesion
