storage stability :
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
tested application :
SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP)

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes the alpha subunit of a transmembrane receptor for collagens and related proteins. The encoded protein forms a heterodimer with a beta subunit and mediates the adhesion of platelets and other cell types to the extracellular matrix. Loss of the encoded protein is associated with bleeding disorder platelet-type 9. Antibodies against this protein are found in several immune disorders, including neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia. This gene is located adjacent to a related alpha subunit gene. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]
uniprot summary :
ITGA2: Integrin alpha-2/beta-1 is a receptor for laminin, collagen, collagen C-propeptides, fibronectin and E-cadherin. It recognizes the proline-hydroxylated sequence G-F-P-G-E-R in collagen. It is responsible for adhesion of platelets and other cells to collagens, modulation of collagen and collagenase gene expression, force generation and organization of newly synthesized extracellular matrix. Belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Receptor, misc. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q11.2. Cellular Component: cell surface; focal adhesion; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; plasma membrane; nerve terminal; nucleus; integrin complex; external side of plasma membrane. Molecular Function: viral receptor activity; collagen binding; integrin binding; protein binding; protein heterodimerization activity; metal ion binding; laminin binding. Biological Process: axon guidance; entry of virus into host cell; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; response to muscle activity; positive regulation of positive chemotaxis; positive regulation of cell adhesion; positive regulation of translation; cell-matrix adhesion; positive regulation of leukocyte migration; positive regulation of smooth muscle cell proliferation; positive regulation of collagen biosynthetic process; positive regulation of collagen binding; positive regulation of cell projection organization and biogenesis; mesodermal cell differentiation; positive regulation of smooth muscle cell migration; response to L-ascorbic acid; response to organic cyclic substance; establishment of protein localization; mammary gland development; positive regulation of smooth muscle contraction; cell adhesion; positive regulation of DNA binding; substrate-bound cell migration; response to drug; integrin-mediated signaling pathway; skin morphogenesis; hypotonic response; cell-substrate adhesion; cellular response to hormone stimulus; detection of mechanical stimulus involved in sensory perception of pain; cell proliferation; organ morphogenesis; response to hypoxia; cell adhesion mediated by integrin; blood coagulation; positive regulation of phagocytosis, engulfment; response to amine stimulus; positive regulation of transmission of nerve impulse; positive regulation of inflammatory response.
