Antigen-specific Affinity Chromatography
form :
Supplied as solution form in 0.01M PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.05% Proclin-300, 50% glycerol.
storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 4°C for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20°C for 12 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were
observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
tested application :
WB; IHC; ICC
app notes :
Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/mL. Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL. Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL. Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

ncbi summary :
Arginase catalyzes the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. At least two isoforms of mammalian arginase exists (types I and II) which differ in their tissue distribution, subcellular localization, immunologic crossreactivity and physiologic function. The type II isoform encoded by this gene, is located in the mitochondria and expressed in extra-hepatic tissues, especially kidney. The physiologic role of this isoform is poorly understood; it is thought to play a role in nitric oxide and polyamine metabolism. Transcript variants of the type II gene resulting from the use of alternative polyadenylation sites have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
ARG2: May play a role in the regulation of extra-urea cycle arginine metabolism and also in down-regulation of nitric oxide synthesis. Extrahepatic arginase functions to regulate L-arginine bioavailability to NO synthase. Since NO synthase is found in the penile corpus cavernosum smooth muscle, the clitoral corpus cavernosum and the vagina, arginase II plays a role in both male and female sexual arousal. It is therefore a potential target for the treatment of male and female sexual arousal disorders. Belongs to the arginase family. Protein type: Mitochondrial; EC 3.5.3.1; Hydrolase; Amino Acid Metabolism - arginine and proline. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q24.1. Cellular Component: mitochondrion; mitochondrial matrix. Molecular Function: metal ion binding; arginase activity. Biological Process: striated muscle contraction; arginine metabolic process; ureteric bud development; nitric oxide biosynthetic process; urea cycle
