[Pregnancy zone protein; Pregnancy zone protein; Alpha-2-macroglobulin; Alpha-2-M]
products gene name :
[a2M]
other gene names :
[Pzp; A2m; Alpha-2-M]
purity :
Antigen-specific affinity chromatography followed by Protein A affinity chromatography
form :
Supplied as solution form in 0.01M PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.05% Proclin-300, 50% glycerol.
concentration :
0.43 mg/ml
storage stability :
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 4ºC for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20ºC for 24 months. Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
tested application :
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP).
app notes :
Western blotting: 0.5-2 ug/mL. Immunohistochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL. Immunocytochemistry: 5-20 ug/mL. Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

uniprot summary :
PZP: Is able to inhibit all four classes of proteinases by a unique 'trapping' mechanism. This protein has a peptide stretch, called the 'bait region' which contains specific cleavage sites for different proteinases. When a proteinase cleaves the bait region, a conformational change is induced in the protein which traps the proteinase. The entrapped enzyme remains active against low molecular weight substrates (activity against high molecular weight substrates is greatly reduced). Following cleavage in the bait region a thioester bond is hydrolyzed and mediates the covalent binding of the protein to the proteinase. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I39 (alpha-2- macroglobulin) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6 F3 6 63.02 cM. Cellular Component: extracellular region; extracellular space. Molecular Function: brain-derived neurotrophic factor binding; endopeptidase inhibitor activity; nerve growth factor binding; peptidase inhibitor activity; protein complex binding; serine-type endopeptidase inhibitor activity. Biological Process: embryo implantation; negative regulation of peptidase activity
