Anti-Bim (IN) [Rabbit antibody to peptide corresponding to aa 22-40 of human Bim, a novel BH3 domain-containing protein. Recognizes human, mouse, and rat Bim.]. This antibody recognizes full-length Bim (23 kD) of human, mouse, and rat.

This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20 degree C. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Immunoblot

Immunoblotting: use at 1:1,000 dilution. Positive control: Whole cell lysate of human K562 cells.

Antigen: Peptide corresponding to aa 22- 40 of human Bim. The sequence is identical to that of mouse and is different by one amino acid from that of rat.

Stabilizer: None. Preservatives: 0.02% sodium azide. Dilutions Instructions: Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.

Apoptosis Antibodies

Members in the Bcl-2 family are critical regulators of apoptosis by either inhibiting or promoting cell death. Bcl-2 homology 3 (BH3) domain is a potent death domain, and BH3 domain-containing pro-apoptotic proteins (such as Bad, Bax, Bid, Bik, and Hrk) form a growing subclass of the Bcl-2 family. A novel BH3 domain-containing protein was recently identified and designated Bim or BOD from human, mouse, and rat. Bim/BOD interacts with diverse members in the pro-survival Bcl-2 subfamily including Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, and Bcl-w. Bim/BOD induces apoptosis. The messenger RNA of Bim is ubiquitously expressed in multiple tissues and cell lines.
