Anti-Progesterone Receptor [Murine MAb to fusion protein corresponding to aa 1-101 of human progesterone receptor, a member of the steroid family of nuclear receptors.]. This antibody recognizes human progesterone receptor (PgR), a member of the steroid family of nuclear receptors. PgR is found as a 94 kD protein (Form A) or a 120 kD protein (Form B). Binding of progesterone to its receptor results in a conformational change that allows dimerization and binding of the receptor to progesterone response elements and activated transcription. When bound to DNA, PgR can positively or negatively regulate gene transcription.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the steroid receptor superfamily. The encoded protein mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. This gene uses two distinct promotors and translation start sites in the first exon to produce two isoforms, A and B. The two isoforms are identical except for the additional 165 amino acids found in the N-terminus of isoform B and mediate their own response genes and physiologic effects with little overlap. [provided by RefSeq]
uniprot summary :
