products description :
Anthrax toxin produced by Bacillus anthracis is composed of three proteins: Protective Antigen (PA), Edema Factor (EF), and Lethal Factor (LF). Toxicity requires the assembly of all three of these proteins, and this process is initiated when full-length PA binds to the cell surface ATR (anthrax toxin receptor). After binding, PA is enzymatically cleaved to yield a 63 kD fragment which then binds EF and LF, and the complex is internalized.
