products description :
Principle of the assay: Rat IFNgamma ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for IFNgamma has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(E.coli,E23-C156) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for IFNgamma is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the rat IFNgamma amount of sample captured in plate. Background: Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) is an inflammatory cytokine that has been implicated in the development of fibrosis in inflamed tissues. The production of IFN-gamma, which is under genetic control, can influence the development of fibrosis in lung allografts.1 IFN-gamma is also produced by natural killer (NK) cells and most prominently by CD8cytotoxic T cells, and is vital for the control of microbial pathogens.2 Interferon gamma is believed to be crucial forhost defence against many infections. Genetically determined variability in IFN-gamma and expression might be important for the development of tuberculosis.3 In addition to having antiviral activity, IFN-gamma has importantimmunoregulatory functions. IFN-gamma plays an important role in the control of neointima proliferation.4
