products description :
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Interleukin 32 (also known as IL-32) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates. Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human IL-32 antibody. IL-32 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human IL-32 Antibody is added and binds to IL-32 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IL-32antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human IL-32. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the cytokine family. The protein contains a tyrosine sulfation site, 3 potential N-myristoylation sites, multiple putative phosphorylation sites, and an RGD cell-attachment sequence. Expression of this protein is increased after the activation of T-cells by mitogens or the activation of NK cells by IL-2. This protein induces the production of TNFalpha from macrophage cells. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
Cytokine that may play a role in innate and adaptive immune responses. It induces various cytokines such as TNFA/TNF-alpha and IL8. It activates typical cytokine signal pathways of NF-kappa-B and p38 MAPK.
