products description :
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Myeloid Differentiation Factor 88 (also known as MyD88) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates. Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human MyD88 antibody. MyD88 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human MyD88 Antibody is added and binds to MyD88 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MyD88 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human MyD88. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

ncbi summary :
Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a heme protein synthesized during myeloid differentiation that constitutes the major component of neutrophil azurophilic granules. Produced as a single chain precursor, myeloperoxidase is subsequently cleaved into a light and heavy chain. The mature myeloperoxidase is a tetramer composed of 2 light chains and 2 heavy chains. This enzyme produces hypohalous acids central to the microbicidal activity of neutrophils. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]
uniprot summary :
Part of the host defense system of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. It is responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms. In the stimulated PMN, MPO catalyzes the production of hypohalous acids, primarily hypochlorous acid in physiologic situations, and other toxic intermediates that greatly enhance PMN microbicidal activity.
