products description :
Zika virus (ZIKV) is a member of the virus family Flaviviridae. It is spread by daytime-active Aedes mosquitoes, such as A. aegypti and A. albopictus. Zika virus is related to the dengue, yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, and West Nile viruses. Zika often causes no or only mild symptoms, similar to a very mild form of dengue fever. Zika can also spread from a pregnant woman to her fetus. This can result in microcephaly, severe brain malformations, and other birth defects. This antibody is specific to the Membrane protein.
uniprot summary :
Protein C: Plays a role in virus budding by binding to membrane and gathering the viral RNA into a nucleoc$apsid that forms the core of a mature virus particle. During virus entry, may induce genome penetration in host cytoplasm after hemifusion induced by surface proteins. Can migrate tot cell nucleus where it modulates host functions.
