BCMA antibody can be used for detection of BCMA by Western blot at 5 mug/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 10 mug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 mug/mL.
other info1 :
Conjugate: Unconjugated. Immunogen: BCMA antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide mapping at the carboxy terminus of human BCMA. Buffer: BCMA Antibody is supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
products description :
BCMA Antibody: Members in the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. Two novel members in the TNF family were recently identified and designated BAFF/BLyS/TALL-1/THANK/zTNF4 and April/TALL-2, respectively. BAFF was characterized as a B cell activator since it induced B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion. April regulates immunological and non-immunological cell growth. Three receptors, BCMA (for B cell maturation protein), TACI, and BAFF-R, for BAFF were recently identified. BCMA, like TACI, binds BAFF and April. BAFF and its receptors induce B cell development and survival, activate NF- B and c-jun N-terminal kinase, and are involved in B cell associated autoimmune diseases.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor is preferentially expressed in mature B lymphocytes, and may be important for B cell development and autoimmune response. This receptor has been shown to specifically bind to the tumor necrosis factor (ligand) superfamily, member 13b (TNFSF13B/TALL-1/BAFF), and to lead to NF-kappaB and MAPK8/JNK activation. This receptor also binds to various TRAF family members, and thus may transduce signals for cell survival and proliferation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
TNFRSF17: Receptor for TNFSF13B/BLyS/BAFF and TNFSF13/APRIL. Promotes B-cell survival and plays a role in the regulation of humoral immunity. Activates NF-kappa-B and JNK. A chromosomal aberration involving TNFRSF17 is found in a form of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Translocation t(4;16)(q26;p13) with IL2. Protein type: Oncoprotein; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p13.1. Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane; endomembrane system. Molecular Function: receptor activity. Biological Process: cell proliferation; immune system process; multicellular organismal development; signal transduction
