products description :
Description: CCNB1 Human Recombinant produced in E Coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 457 amino acids (1-433) and having a molecular mass of 50.9 kDa.CCNB1 is fused to a 24 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Introduction: Cyclin B1 (CCNB1) is a regulatory protein involved in mitosis. CCNB1 creates a complex with p34(cdc2) to form the maturation-promoting factor (MPF). CCNB1 is vital for the control of the cell cycle at the G2/M (mitosis) transition. CCNB1 builds up steadily during the G2 and is immediately destroyed at mitosis. The 2 alternative transcripts produce a constitutively expressed transcript and a cell cycle-regulated transcript which is expressed predominantly during G2/M phase. These transcripts are a result of alternate transcription initiation sites.

ncbi summary :
The protein encoded by this gene is a regulatory protein involved in mitosis. The gene product complexes with p34(cdc2) to form the maturation-promoting factor (MPF). Two alternative transcripts have been found, a constitutively expressed transcript and a cell cycle-regulated transcript, that is expressed predominantly during G2/M phase. The different transcripts result from the use of alternate transcription initiation sites. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
CCNB1: a member of the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins function as regulators of CDK kinases. Complexes with cdc2 to form the maturation-promoting factor (MPF). Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been found, a constitutively expressed form and a cell cycle-regulated form that is expressed predominantly during G2/M phase.
