products description :
Description: RALA Human Recombinant fused with a 24 amino acid His tag at N-terminus produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 227 amino acids (1-203 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 25.8kDa. The RALA is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Introduction: Ras-related protein Ral-A (RALA) is a member of the small GTPase superfamily, Ras family of proteins. RALA mediates a distinct downstream signaling pathway from Ras which facilitates cellular transformation. Furthermore, RALA is thought to be involved in various signaling cascades, including regulation of the cytoskeleton, vesicle trafficking, and endocytosis.

ncbi summary :
The product of this gene belongs to the small GTPase superfamily, Ras family of proteins. GTP-binding proteins mediate the transmembrane signaling initiated by the occupancy of certain cell surface receptors. This gene encodes a low molecular mass ras-like GTP-binding protein that shares about 50% similarity with other ras proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
