products description :
Description: ETS1 Human Recombinant (aa 220-442) expressed in E Coli, shows a 48 kDa band on SDS-PAGE (Including GST).The ETS1 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Introduction: The proto-oncogene c-Ets-1 is a transcription factor known to regulate expression of a number of genes involved in extracellular matrix remodeling, control numerous genes and are involved in stem cell development, cell senescence and death, and tumorigenesis. Ets-1 interacts with the urokinase-type plasminogen activator gene enhancer and with the promoters of stromelysins-1 and collagenase-1 gene which may implicate it in this process. The conserved ETS domain inside these proteins is a winged helix-turn-helix DNA-binding domain that recognizes the core consensus DNA sequence GGAA/T of target genes.

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes a member of the ETS family of transcription factors, which are defined by the presence of a conserved ETS DNA-binding domain that recognizes the core consensus DNA sequence GGAA/T in target genes. These proteins function either as transcriptional activators or repressors of numerous genes, and are involved in stem cell development, cell senescence and death, and tumorigenesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
