Samples: Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine. Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated AP12 concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human AP12 antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add AP12 and AP12 antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of AP12 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. Detection Range: The detection range of this kit is 0.5 ng/ml - 16 ng/ml.

Sensitivity: The sensitivity of this kit is 0.1 ng/ml. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]

This gene encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor gene family. The encoded protein is related to the angiotensin receptor, but is actually an apelin receptor that inhibits adenylate cyclase activity and plays a counter-regulatory role against the pressure action of angiotensin II by exerting hypertensive effect. It functions in the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, in glucose metabolism, in embryonic and tumor angiogenesis and as a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) coreceptor. Function: Receptor for apelin coupled to G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity and plays a role in various processes in adults such as regulation of blood pressure, heart contractility, and heart failure. Also plays a key role in early development such as gastrulation and heart morphogenesis by acting as a receptor for APELA hormone. Alternative coreceptor with CD4 for HIV-1 infection; may be involved in the development of AIDS dementia. Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Tissue specificity: Widely expressed in the brain, in glial cells, astrocytes and neuronal subpopulations, as well as in the spleen, thymus, ovary, small intestine and colon. Sequence similarities: Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.
