other info2 :
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit is intended for laboratory in vitro research use only, not for drug, household or other use! The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm by a spectrophotometer. In order to measure the concentration of Sheep MBL-C in the sample, this ELISA kit includes a set of calibration standards. The calibration standards are assayed at the same time as the samples and allow the operator to produce a standard curve of Optical Density versus Sheep MBL-C concentration. The concentration of Sheep MBL-C in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay CV (%) are less than 15%. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay CV (%) are less than 15%.

ncbi summary :
The recognition of complex carbohydrate structures on glycoproteins is an important part of several biological processes, including cell-cell recognition, serum glycoprotein turnover, and neutralization of pathogens. The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane receptor that mediates the endocytosis of glycoproteins by macrophages. The protein has been shown to bind high-mannose structures on the surface of potentially pathogenic viruses, bacteria, and fungi so that they can be neutralized by phagocytic engulfment.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2011]
uniprot summary :
MRC1: Mediates the endocytosis of glycoproteins by macrophages. Binds both sulfated and non-sulfated polysaccharide chains. Acts as phagocytic receptor for bacteria, fungi and other pathogens. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Receptor, misc.; Membrane protein, integral; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10p12.33. Cellular Component: cell surface; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; endosome membrane. Molecular Function: mannose binding; protein binding; transmembrane receptor activity; receptor activity. Biological Process: receptor-mediated endocytosis; signal transduction
