other info1 :
Samples: Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine. Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated GDF15 concentrations in Rat serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Rat GDF15 antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add GDF15 and GDF15 antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of GDF15 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. Detection Range: The detection range of this kit is 62.5pg/ml-2000pg/ml.
other info2 :
Sensitivity: The sensitivity of this kit is 10pg/ml. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]

ncbi summary :
Bone morphogenetic proteins (e.g., BMP9; MIM 605120) are members of the transforming growth factor-beta (see TGFB1; MIM 190180) superfamily and regulate tissue differentiation and maintenance. They are synthesized as precursor molecules that are processed at a dibasic cleavage site to release C-terminal domains containing a characteristic motif of 7 conserved cysteines in the mature protein.[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2009]
uniprot summary :
Subunit structure: Homodimer; disulfide-linked . By similarity. Subcellular location: Secreted . Probable. Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in placenta, with lower levels in prostate and colon and some expression in kidney. Sequence similarities: Belongs to the TGF-beta family.
