Samples: Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces, Urine and Body Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.25 ug/ml - 8 ug/ml. Sensitivity: 0.1 ug/ml.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated CETP concentrations in Hamster serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Hamster CETP antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add CETP and CETP antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of CETP in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean x100]

ncbi summary :
Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) transfers cholesteryl esters between lipoproteins. CETP may effect susceptibility to atherosclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
uniprot summary :
CETP: Involved in the transfer of insoluble cholesteryl esters in the reverse transport of cholesterol. Defects in CETP are the cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia type 1 (HALP1). Affected individuals show high levels of alpha-lipoprotein (high density lipoprotein/HDL). Belongs to the BPI/LBP/Plunc superfamily. BPI/LBP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Protein type: Vesicle; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide; Lipid-binding. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q21. Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region; vesicle. Molecular Function: lipid transporter activity; phospholipid transporter activity; cholesterol transporter activity; cholesterol binding; phosphatidylcholine binding; lipid binding; triglyceride binding. Biological Process: receptor-mediated endocytosis; cholesterol metabolic process; cholesterol transport; lipid homeostasis; lipoprotein metabolic process; lipid transport; phosphatidylcholine metabolic process; cholesterol homeostasis; reverse cholesterol transport; triacylglycerol metabolic process; phospholipid transport; triacylglycerol transport; transmembrane transport; phospholipid homeostasis. Disease: Hyperalphalipoproteinemia 1
