other info1 :
Samples: Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces, Urine and Body Fluids. Assay Type: Sandwich. Detection Range: 0.625 ng/ml - 20 ng/ml. Sensitivity: 0.1 ng/ml.
other info2 :
Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated PRL/LTH concentrations in Hamster serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Hamster PRL/LTH antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add PRL/LTH and PRL/LTH antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of PRL/LTH in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]

ncbi summary :
This gene encodes the anterior pituitary hormone prolactin. This secreted hormone is a growth regulator for many tissues, including cells of the immune system. It may also play a role in cell survival by suppressing apoptosis, and it is essential for lactation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. uniprot summary :
prolactin: Prolactin acts primarily on the mammary gland by promoting lactation. Belongs to the somatotropin/prolactin family. Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted; Cytokine; Secreted, signal peptide. Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p22.3. Cellular Component: extracellular region. Molecular Function: protein binding; prolactin receptor binding; hormone activity. Biological Process: lactation; cell proliferation; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; regulation of multicellular organism growth; positive regulation of JAK-STAT cascade; female pregnancy
