The UBE2R1/CDC34 protein is an important ubiquitin-proteasome system component that functions as an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme, capable of proficiently accepting ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzing its covalent attachment to a variety of protein substrates.
