MFAP4 is a protein that may be involved in calcium-dependent cell adhesion or cell-cell interactions and may play a role in elastic fiber assembly and maintenance. It exists as homodimers and is capable of forming higher oligomers. MFAP4 Protein, Human (HEK293, His-Flag) is the recombinant human-derived MFAP4 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with N-His, N-Flag labeled tag.

Human

The MFAP4 protein is implicated in potential roles related to calcium-dependent cell adhesion and intercellular interactions. It may contribute to the assembly and maintenance of elastic fibers, as suggested by its interaction with proteins such as FBN1, FBN2, LOX, COL1A1, and ELN. MFAP4 forms homodimers and higher oligomers, and its interaction with collagen type I (COL1A1) occurs in a calcium-dependent manner. Additionally, MFAP4 interacts with elastin (ELN) in a calcium-dependent manner, promoting the self-assembly of ELN. These molecular interactions highlight the versatility of MFAP4 in participating in cellular adhesion, extracellular matrix dynamics, and elastic fiber-related processes.
