LAMTOR2 is a key component of the Ragulator complex, which centralizes amino acid sensing and mTORC1 activation in response to stimuli such as growth factors, energy levels, and amino acids. As an amino acid-activated guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), the Ragulator complex recruits Rag GTPases (RagA/RRAGA, RagB/RRAGB, RagC/RRAGC, and/or RagD/RRAGD) to the lysosomal membrane.
