IGFBP-7 Protein is a member of the insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP) Family. The major function of IGFBP-7 is the regulation of availability of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) in tissue as well as in modulating IGF binding to its receptors. IGFBP7 exhibits a relatively low affinity for binding to both IGF-I and IGF-II. Furthermore, it has the capacity to stimulate the production of prostacyclin (PGI2) and enhance cell adhesion.
