Nucleoprotein/NP Protein is essential for viral replication and transcription. Nucleoprotein/NP Protein binds to viral RNA to form a ribonucleoprotein complex required for genome replication. Nucleoprotein/NP Protein induces strong antibody (Ab) and T cell responses, regulating innate and adaptive immunity [1] [3] . Nucleoprotein/NP Protein functions by secreting into the extracellular space, where it competes with host chemokines to bind to host glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) [2] . Nucleoprotein/NP Protein induces excessive inflammation by promoting the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome, which plays a role in COVID-related lung injury [4] .
