Dermatopontin/DPT Protein facilitates adhesion by binding to integrins on the cell surface. It acts as a conduit for communication between dermal fibroblast cells and the extracellular matrix. Furthermore, it enhances TGFB1 activity, inhibits cell proliferation, promotes collagen fibril formation, and stabilizes them at low temperatures. DPT Protein interacts with TGFB1, DCN, and collagen.
