The EFC is orchestrated by a collaborative effort among its constituent proteins, namely OPG053/F9, OPG076/O3, OPG086/G3, OPG094/G9, OPG095/L1, OPG099/L5, OPG107/H2, OPG143/A16, OPG104/J5, OPG147/A21, and OPG155/A28. Remarkably, with the exception of OPG095/L1 and OPG053/F9, each protein within the EFC is indispensable for the assembly or stability of the complex.
