Neuropilin-1 protein is a cell surface receptor that plays multiple roles in cardiovascular development, angiogenesis, and neuronal circuit formation. It mediates chemical repulsion by recognizing ligands with CendR motifs, leading to internalization and vascular leakage. Neuropilin-1 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is the recombinant rat-derived Neuropilin-1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag and K811R, P812-G828 delet.

Neuropilin-1 Protein is a cell-surface receptor that plays diverse roles in the development of the cardiovascular system, angiogenesis, neuronal circuit formation, and organogenesis. It acts as a mediator for the chemorepulsant activity of semaphorins and recognizes a C-end rule (CendR) motif R/KXXR/K on its ligands, leading to cellular internalization and vascular leakage. It binds to various ligands including semaphorin 3A, PLGF-2 isoform of PGF, VEGF165 isoform of VEGFA, and VEGFB. When coexpressed with KDR, it enhances the binding of VEGF165 to KDR and promotes chemotaxis. Neuropilin-1 regulates VEGF-induced angiogenesis and plays a crucial role in motor neuron axon guidance and cell body migration, particularly during the caudal migration of facial motor neurons in embryonic development. It is also involved in the regulation of mitochondrial iron transport through its interaction with ABCB8/MITOSUR. Neuropilin-1 forms homodimers and heterodimers with NRP2, interacts with PLXNB1, FER, VEGFA, and ABCB8/MITOSUR in mitochondria.
