Additionally, it is implicated in the cleavage of peptides bound to major histocompatibility complex class II molecules on antigen-presenting cells. Aminopeptidase N/APN may play a role in angiogenesis, cholesterol crystallization promotion, and potentially acts as a binding partner for amino acid transporter SLC6A19, thereby regulating its activity and influencing amino acid transport.
