Specificity :
The antigen is found in dendritic cells. The MIDC-8 antigen is localized in the cytoplasm as distinct spots near the nucleus. Immunohistological analyses indicate that the antigen recognized by MIDC-8 and NLDC-145 may be biochemically related. Antigen distribution: Isolated cells: The antigen is found in dendritic cells. MIDC-8 does not stain thymic epithelial cells which are the major contaminants in thymic dendritic cell preparations. The antigen is also absent in blood cells, bone marrow cells or macrophages isolated from the peritoneal cavity. Tissue sections: The antigen is found in interdigitating cells in T cell dependent areas of secondary lymphoid organs, the medulla of thymus, veiled cells, and very weakly in Langerhans cells.
