Specificity :
Western blotting of cell membranes of COS cells transiently transfected with cDNA encoding Connexin-40 shows two bands of molecular weight 38 and 40kD which are abolished by preincubation with the immunizing peptide. No such bands are detected in western blots of membranes from non-transfected cells or cells transfected with cDNA encoding Connexin-37, Connexin-43 or Connexin-45. Species cross-reactivity: This antiserum recognizes Connexin-40 in rat.
