Specificity :
Detects an ~70-75 kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of plant cytosolic Hsc70 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots, in samples from apple, asparagus, banana, carrot, corn (3), cucumber, lettuce, orange, potato, spinach (1,2,3,5), tomato (3), woody plant bark tissue (4), and Douglas Fir root origins. In some plant lysates, additional lower molecular mass bands may be detected, which correspond to either Hsc70 degradation or proteins of unknown identity. Although this antibody works well for immunoprecipitations under native conditions (2,5), it is not recommended for immunoprecipitating cytosolic Hsc70 from tomato lysates (3). This antibody does not cross react with E. coli DnaK (2,3), mammalian Hsc70, recombinant hamster BiP (2) or spinach BiP (2).
