Recognizes human heat shock protein 60 (Hsp60). The clone does not react with Hsp60 of bacterial origin. The epitope recognized by this clone is located between amino acids 383 and 447 of human Hsp60. Hsp60 has been linked to a number of autoimmune diseases including arthritis (ref. 1). Mutation of Hsp60 has been implicated as the causation of hereditary spastic paraplegia SPG13 (ref. 2).
