Recognizes human Serine/threonine-protein kinase Chk1, also known as cell cycle checkpoint kinase homologue 1, CHK1 or Checkpoint kinase-1. CHK1 is a 476 amino acid ~56 kD cytoplasmic and nuclear protein. CHK1 has an important role at the G2 checkpoint in the cell cycle. CHK1 is activated in response to DNA damage, and serves to phosphorylate Cdc25, which results in cell cycle arrest. CHK1 may also play a role in the S phase checkpoint.
