Specificity :
Recognizes human DNA replication licensing factor MCM6, also known as minichromosome maintenance 6 (MCM6) or p105MCM. MCM6 is a 821 amino acid, ~115kD nuclear component of the MCM complex containing a single domain. MCM6 is involved in the initiation and control of eukaryotic DNA replication. Studies show that MCM4 forms a hexameric protein complex with MCM6 and 7, which has DNA helicase activity, and may act as a DNA unwinding enzyme. The phosphorylation of this complex by CDC2 kinase reduces the DNA helicase activity and chromatin binding of the MCM complex. MCM6 has been noted to have elevated expression in Hodgkin's lymphoma and be a predictor of survival in patients with mantle cell lymphoma.
