Rabbit
Product Name :
Anti-CAMK2 / CAMKII
Specificity :
Detects calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII), a serine/threonine kinase that is activated by calcium ions (Ca2+) and the Ca2+/calmodulin complex (CaM). CaMKII is expressed in glutamatergic excitatory neurons and constitutes the major postsynaptic density protein. It is important in the regulation of synaptic transmission, with possible roles in learning and memory. CaMKII comprises multiple isoforms that are derived from four closely related gene products; alpha, beta, gamma and delta, that have distinct but overlapping expression patterns. Decreased alpha CaMKII autophosphorylation capability in the hippocampus is associated with Angelman syndrome, which is associated with mental retardation
