ShortWebDescription :
Estrogen Receptor antibody LS-C347468 is an unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody to human Estrogen Receptor (ER Alpha). Validated for ICC, IP and WB.
UsageText :
Estrogen receptor (ER) is a hormone binding molecule, which belongs to the nuclear hormone family of intracellular receptors. Estrogen receptors exist as alpha and beta forms encoded by separate genes ESR1 and ESR2. ER alpha and ER beta share a high degree of sequence homology and are activated by the hormone 17 beta -estradiol and related compounds, including phytoestrogens and xenoestrogens. Both ER alpha and ER beta function as transcription factors which mediate many of the biological effects of estradiol at the level of gene regulation. Both receptors and are involved in the normal development and function of numerous tissues. Studies also suggest that ER's may be involved in a range of pathological conditions including cancers, neurodegenerative diseases and cardiovascular disease.

Since 1995, LifeSpan has been the industry leader in molecular pathology, specializing in the localization of proteins in normal and diseased tissues, both human and non-human. We offer more than 74,000 antibodies, custom designed immunohistochemistry (IHC) studies, immediately available human tissue IHC profiles for more than 500 proteins, and histology and pathology services. Our bank of 2 million specimens is available to support our customers' contract research studies and contains frozen and formalin-fixed (FFPE) normal and diseased tissues. Our contract services are comprehensive; they include study design, antibody sourcing and characterization, tissue sourcing and validation, immunolabeling, trouble shooting, and interpretation of the results by a LifeSpan pathologist.
