Recognizes human fibronectin (FN)), also known as Cold-insoluble globulin (CIS). Fibronectin is a 2386 amino acid plasma protein containing twelve domains, domains and domains. Soluble fibronectin is mainly synthesized by hepatocytes whilst the less soluble cellular fibronectin is synthesized by a variety of cell types and has a more diverse phenotype due to cell specific post translational modifications. Fibronectin is a multifunctional molecule bearing a number of cell binding and protein interaction attesting to its role in processes ranging from acting as an integrin ligand through self assembly to heparin and collagen binding and fibrin interactions during wound repair.
