Description :
CD90.2 (Thy 1) antigen is a GPI linked glycoprotein member of the Immunoglobulin super family. CD90.2 is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer's cells and fibroblasts. Thy 1 may play a role in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other events in the brain. CD90.2 is an 18 kDa plasma membrane antigen expressed by hematopoietic cells and neurons in all species studied, highly expressed in connective tissue, various fibroblast and stromal cell lines and lastly, by tumor endothelial cell lines. In the mouse, CD90.2 is expressed on all thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes.
