Background :

In mammals, cyclin B associates with inactive p34cdc2. Cyclin B-p34cdc2 plays a critical role in G2 to M transition.

Immunogen :

Tagged hamster Cyclin B1 expressed in bacteria, harvested from inclusion bodies, extracted with 6M guanidine HCl and purified by affinity chromatograaphy.

Specificity :

This antibody is specific to a protein of 62 kD identified as cyclin B1. Cyclin B1 expression is restricted to a specific short period of the cell cycle with cyclin B1 expression detected earlier and peaking in concentration before cyclin B2 expression.
