BRD2 is a member of the BET sub-family of bromodomain-containing proteins, which also includes BRD3, BRD4 and BRDT. BET proteins have two bromodomains and an ET domain C-terminal to the second bromodomain. BRD2 has been reported to bind multiple sites of acetylation on histone H4. BRD2 is essential for mammalian development, and has been linked to Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy.
