Product Description :
An immunometric ELISA for the measurement of oligomerized MBL in human samples. Absorbance is read at 450nm. Mannan-binding lectin (MBL) is an important component of the innate immune system. In at least 12% of the average Caucasian population, the circulating level of functional MBL is insufficient. This makes MBL deficiency by far the most common primary immunodeficiency.
SPECIES REACTIVITY :
Human
Background :
MBL (Mannan-Binding Lectin) is a carbohydrate-binding protein produced in the liver and secreted into the blood. The protein plays a key factor in innate immunity, functioning as a player in the complement activation cascade and defending the body against invading microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, protozoa and fungi).
ALTnames :
Mannan-binding lectin, Mannose binding lectin
Uses :
For the quantitative determination of oligomerized MBL in human serum and plasma.
Application Summary :
ELISA, Colorimetric detection
Storage :
+4°C
