FVIIa is a serine endopeptidase comprising a light and a heavy chain, the latter being the catalytic subunit. When complexed with tissue factor (TF), FVIIa converts factors X and IX to factors Xa and IXa as part of the clotting cascade, making it important in cardiovascular research and drug development.
